Software Promotional Animation

A punchy animation that brought a major systems transformation to life for 2,000+ staff

NOTE: This animation has been sped up 1.5x and audio replaced with music.

Objectives

CBA's Collections department were overhauling their existing software (some of which were 40 year old legacy systems still using DOS manual inputs) and introducing a state of art software known as PowerCurve Collections (PCC). This new system would eventually replace the legacy systems over a gradual 2-3 year release. I was commissioned to create a flashy, engaging animation that would build hype ahead of the launch and clearly explain the coming changes to a department of over 2,000 employees, framing the shift as a major improvement and step forward towards the future.

These are some excerpts from the storyboard developed prior to animation production.

Outcome

The result was a custom animation built in After Effects, using bespoke assets and motion graphics to visually dramatise the technological transition — moving from outdated, analogue systems to a sleek, modern digital platform. The piece was distributed in the lead-up to the PCC launch as a key piece of internal communication and hype-building.

The animation proved to be a highly engaging and punchy way to land a complex operational change with a large, dispersed workforce, generating far more buzz and attention than a standard internal newsletter or memo could have achieved.
